Norwich Arts Centre – Main Auditorium // Cost £11.50, concessions £9 (includes admin fee)
WOW – Women of the World festival is coming to the city in April 2018 and is being organised in conjunction with performance and music venue Norwich Arts Centre and London’s Southbank Centre.
The WOW – Women of the World festival, founded in 2010 by Southbank Centre’s Artistic Director, Jude Kelly CBE, is now the largest women’s movement in the world, reaching over 1.5 million people in 20 cities across five continents.
Each WOW festival, made up of talks, debates, music, activism, comedy, workshops, mentoring, pop ups and major concerts, celebrates women and girls, takes a frank look at what prevents them from achieving their potential and raises awareness globally of the issues they face as well as creating possible solutions.
True Stories Live is a lively, moving and unpredictable event where people tell true stories about their lives in front of a warm, supportive audience. We recommend you buy tickets in advance as the event usually sells out on the night. In these uncertain times we believe more than ever in the power of community and empathy to galvanise and inspire.
Special guests for the evening, also TSL's second birthday event, are Australian born, UK based, comedian Bec Hill and American writer, artist, filmmaker and performance maker Paula Varjack. They will tell stories about one of their true-life experiences as part of a bill that will also include some previous female TSL participants telling stories relevant to 21st century women.
If the ticket price is a barrier to you attending any of our events or workshops, please email truestorieslive@gmail.com.
